How It Works
From a problem to a professional, in four steps
Booking takes under a minute. Everything that has to be true before a professional is allowed to accept that booking takes considerably longer, and this page covers both — including the parts most home-services sites leave out, like what happens when you need to cancel.
The booking
Four steps, and what each one actually involves
The short version is on the homepage. This is the long one.
- 1
Pick your service
Every service page states what the starting price covers before you commit to anything, which matters more than the number itself. A plumbing call-out and a rooftop solar system are priced on completely different bases, so the page tells you which one you are looking at — a call-out charge, a per-kilowatt rate, or a facilitation fee with a government charge on top.
If you cannot tell which service you need, describe the problem instead of guessing. Someone reads it and comes back with the right category, which is a better use of a minute than booking the wrong trade.
- 2
Choose a date and time
You get a confirmed appointment rather than a call-back window. Pick a date, pick a slot, and that slot is held — nobody rings later to renegotiate it, and you are not asked to keep a whole morning free on the chance that someone turns up.
Plans change, and the booking allows for it. You can move or cancel free up to two hours before the appointment, from the confirmation itself. Inside those two hours the professional has usually already set out, which is the point at which a visit charge can apply.
- 3
A verified professional arrives
Before anyone is allowed to accept a single booking they have been ID-verified, background-checked and tested on the trade they registered for. That happens once, at registration, and it is the reason there is a gap between somebody signing up as a Service Provider and somebody appearing in your app.
Once a professional is assigned you get their name, their photograph and a live arrival status. You should know who is at your door before you open it, and you should not have to ring anyone to find out where they are.
- 4
Pay once you are satisfied
Payment happens after the work is done, in the app, by UPI, card or net banking. Nothing is taken up front, and no card details are stored by Servixo.
If the job turns out to be larger than the booking, the extra is quoted and you approve it before the work continues. Nothing is added to a bill after the fact. That is the most common complaint about home services anywhere, and preventing it is most of what this flow is for.
On the day
What to expect when someone is actually coming
A booking is easy to promise and harder to keep. These are the things that should happen on the day without you having to ask for any of them.
Before they arrive
- You get a notification when the professional is assigned, with their name and photograph.
- A second notification when they set out, and a live status you can check without ringing anyone.
- If they are running late you are told, rather than left to work it out from the clock.
While they work
- They look at the job before starting, and tell you then if it is larger than what you booked.
- Anything outside the booked scope is quoted and approved by you before it is begun.
- Materials and spares are billed at cost and itemised, never rolled into a round number.
Before they leave
- The work is checked against a service-specific checklist rather than a general impression.
- The site is cleared — this is part of the job, not a favour.
- You pay in the app, rate the visit, and keep the itemised receipt and any warranty that applies.
Changing your mind
Rescheduling and cancellation, without the small print
Most of the cost of a broken appointment falls on the professional who set out for it, so the rules exist to be fair in both directions rather than to catch anyone out.
More than two hours before
Move it or cancel it free of charge, from your booking confirmation or through support. There is no fee and no explanation required.
Inside two hours
A visit charge may apply, because the professional has usually already set out. The charge is the visit fee for that service — never the full job.
Nobody can get access
If the professional cannot get in at the agreed time and cannot reach you, the visit is treated as a late cancellation.
If we cancel
If no approved provider can attend we offer the next available slot or cancel at no charge, and anything already paid is refunded in full.
Jobs quoted after a site visit
Painting, moving and solar installation are governed by the quote you approved rather than by the standard window. Their terms are set out in that quote.
Payment
Money changes hands once, at the end
Nothing is charged until the work is done. That single rule is what the rest of this section is made of.
When you pay
After the work is finished, not before. There is no deposit on a standard booking and no card held against a slot.
How you pay
UPI, card or net banking, in the app. No card details are stored by Servixo.
What the receipt shows
The service, parts at cost and taxes as separate lines. If you cannot see what you paid for, the receipt has failed.
If the job grows
The extra is quoted and approved by you before the work continues. Nothing is added to a bill after the fact.
If you are owed a refund
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, typically five to seven working days later depending on your bank or UPI provider.
Trust & Safety
Every professional, verified before they reach your door
Background verification
Identity and address are confirmed from original documents before a professional is listed.
Verified professionals
Trade skills are assessed in person, and any certificate is checked against the body that issued it.
Secure payments
Payments run through the gateway, not through us — your card details never reach Servixo.
Service quality monitoring
Work is checked against a service-specific checklist, and low ratings go to a supervisor.
Customer reviews
Ratings come only from customers with a completed booking, and negative ones are not removed.
Transparent pricing
The starting price and what it covers are shown before you book; anything beyond it is quoted first.
Customer support
Reach a person seven days a week, and escalate any open job to a supervisor.
